Description Authrs describe pica syndrom in the child 2 years 7 months in Kosovo, expressed bygeophagia inestimated amount of soil about 80-120 g daily. Beside low body heigh and weight according to the age, palmar pale and pale of the conjuntives and mucouses and hypersomnia were found out. By the analysis of ingested soil from the extract by 1,0 M HCL, cadnium, lead, mercury, iron zinc and copper were stated. Lead and mercury were found out in the anounts higher than acceptable daily intake. Although daily amount of iron from ingested soil was calculated to be 231-347 mg, assessed child clear signs of anaemia were detected. Authors would like to call medicalš attention to ossibility of increased occurrence of pica syndrom in children coming to central Europe from the regions of war conflicts.
