Description In the paper the influence of the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) on determining the values of the one-dimensional power spectral density function (PSDF) of randomly rough surfaces is described for employing data achieved using atomic force microscopy (AFM). Errors originating at the determination of the PSDF in consequence of using the pupil (window) function are discussed.
