Description Craniectomy in the tretment of uncontrollable cerebral oedema was suggested by Scoville in 1965. Until present times it was more and more frequently recommended after severe head injuries. The authors have analogically used it in cases of cerebral vein lesions. Craniectomy, in cases with optimal extent of lesions, taking into account also the character of oedematous tissue, can become the standard method of treatment.
