| Description | The article analyzes position and functioning of the Slovakian Democratic Party (DP), which in the years 1998-2002 set the reformist pace of the entire government. By employing A. Lijphart's account of ideological dimensions of party conflicts, the article focuses on the programmatics of the DP before the 2002 parliamentary elections. As a conclusion, a more general remark on the role of this type of political party in the process of post-communist transition is offered. |
