Description Several studies suggest that abnormalities in nitrix oxide (NO) synthesis may contribute to the development of pulmonary diseases. We recently identified a novel variant within intron 4 of the NOS3 gene: A to G conversion at nucleotide position 5495. We have, therefore, performed a case-control study to investigate a plausible association between this polymorphism in the NOS3 gene and respiratory allergic diseases.
