Description There exist many forms of organisations of ethnic minorities. Ethnic political parties have a difficult position. In most cases, their close relationship to the ethnic minority marginalises their position in the party system. Some ethnic interest groups are oriented more politically, some more culturally. Ethnic terrorist groups and ethnic organisations of organised crime represent quite specific actors. In the Czech Republic ethnic parties (mostly those of Romanies) are not very successful. It seems that interest groups can defend and promote the interests of minorities more effectivelly in the Czech environment. Ethnic terrorism in the Czech Republic does not exist, but transnational ethnic organised crime is to be considered a security danger for the Czech Republic.
