| Description | In the Czech group of pregnant women involved in the international ELSPAC study, the prevalence of chronic stress sources was investigated : conflicts in parents relationships and their separations and divorces, mishandling and sexual abuse of their children poor relations to school, disharmonic social conditions of pregnant women and consequences of their unreaonable sexual behaviour. Among women with only basic level of education, higher prevalence of social sources of chronic stress during their childhood was shown, compared with those better educated. Significant differences of stress history among smoking and non-smoking women in this social group occured. Also sources of chronic stress during adulthood were observed more often among low educated women. The significant differences in the chronic stress exposure between smokers and non-smokers occured only in the group of better educated women. |
