Description Small soil annelids (Enchytraeidae, Tubificidae, Aeolosomatidae) were studied in a project aimed at finding the most efficient way to restore traditional species-rich meadows on arable land in the White Carpathians (Czech Republic). The present results from 2000-2002 reflect the initial stage of succession. In total 17 enchytraeid, 1 tubificid and 2 aeolosomatid species were recorded (7 new for the Czech fauna), the genera Fridericia, Enchytraeus and Henlea making up for 90 % of individuals.
