| Description | Tourist information is considered in the Czech Republic as a free public service. However, we lack a legal act, which would define this service, set its parameters and responsibility. A contribution attempts to show opportunities and abilities of elementary tourist information units in space, of tourist information centres (TIC), provide those interested with quality and relevant information service. As a problematic field of tourist information within TIC we can name not only effort to reach its strict standardization and certification but also financing and institutional support within regional structures. Pressing and not solved problem is pressure on establishment and effective functioning of regional TIC, which would become support for TIC net in the Czech Republic and through their methodological and technical support they will help local information centres functioning. |
