Citation
Description The paper deals with the problems of a commemorative culture, which was established within the context of a specific religious situation in the lands of the Czech Crown during the 16th and 17th centuries. It tries to show a close connection between the spreading Reformation and founding of new components of the commemorative culture, that was, compared with the late medieval period, characterized by a different conception of remembrance. The essay also takes into account a penetrating of confessional items into this field, especially in time of the confessional strain at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. Last but not least deals the paper with later trends in the Protestant remembrance: decline of such commemoration in the 17th century owing to a newly established catholic system of salvation.
