| Description | Retrospective study of 182 patients who died of pancreatic cancer(PC). We analyzed the presence of diabetes mellitus and the length of its duration prior to diagnosis of PC. A relatively high percentage of patients with diabetes appearing shorty before the PC diagnosis may point the the fact that PC cells produce diabetogenic factors and therefore diabetes could be considered the first symptom of pancreatic cancer. |
