| Description | The article was written while working on a project supported by the Fond for Developing Higher Education (FRVŠ). The aim of the project was to revise and update the course Bilingualism offered at the Pedagogical Faculty of the Masaryk University to students on study programs for teachers of foreign languages. In the article, the author considers possible additional qualifications which students could gain from research on bilingualism. Three areas are identified: (1) Acceptance of bilingualism as natural, (2) relatedness of language use to certain social domains, (3) interconnection between language and personal identity and (4) the influence of language attitudes on acquisition and use of a certain language. |
