| Description | There are specific economic instruments to promote the use of energy from renewable sources. However, biofuels and bioliquids shall fulfil the sustainability criteria to be eligible for financial support. Both raw materials harvesting and consumption should not entail negative environmental, economic and social impacts. As the promotion of biofuels and bioliquids is a controversial issue, relevant legislation is changing currently. Efficiency and enforcement of this legislation is a challenge. |
