Citation
Description The book pursues two general goals: First, to sketch in basic terms the debate on the issue of transnational or global justice, which represents a key subcategory of contemporary discussions about justice. Second, by means of a critical exposition of the main points of cosmopolitan theories of justice, to show that the competing and more moderate view of a global extension of principles and theories of justice is more plausible. The author's argumentation concerns two distinct levels: The philosophical one, relating above all to the issue of justification of principles of justice, and the practical-political one, covering the question of real-world feasibility of the proposed institutional structures. The author is led to believe that we should stay rather reserved with regard to both the desirability and the feasibility of cosmopolitan justice.
