Description The Czech Republic is a member state of the Europe Union. The strategic position in the centre of Europe enables the Czech Republic to be chosen very often by parties as a place of arbitration. However, its popularity as place of arbitration will depend on the legal regulation of international arbitration in the Czech Republic as well as on the practice of general courts in arbitration cases. The purpose of this article is to present briefly the essence of Czech international arbitration. It is divided into several parts, each of them concerning general and/or current problems of arbitration in the Czech Republic.
