Description Vaccination is an effective method for prevention of infectious diseases dissemination. At the present time it is developing quantitatively and qualitatively which physicians of various branches of medicine increasingly encounter. The paper provides information about present legislation concerning vaccination in the Czech Republic and describes individual types of vaccination and examples from practice. Indications, objectives and possibilities of compulsory vaccination as well as special, emergency, injury-related and that for nonhealing wounds are summarized. Main principles of above-standard vaccination and that concerned with foreign travel are outlined in greater detail.
