Citation
Description This chapter focuses on the philosophical conception of spatiality as a phenomenological category and its relationship to the modern concepts of natural sciences. The development of the concept of space on the various levels led towards its contemporary understanding as a continuum of culture and communication (D. Veselý) in which man appears as the basic creative agent. Veselý connects the principle of communicative space with the artistic "thinking about reality" (e.g. issues of space forming and theory of vision in A. Hildebrand s conception) and focuses therefore on the influence the modern research into natural sciences had on the ideas of multi-dimensionality and on modernism in art. Veselý thus shows that through the symbolic representation of these phenomena art plays an irreplaceable role in the human relationship to the world. The text is a part of analysis within the frame of dissertation thesis which research how the visual art represents a physical ideas.
