Description | In year 2008 took place a rescue archaeological excavation of the backbone communication for the future infrastructure development on the cadastre of Pasohlávky. To the south-east from Pasohlávky there were encountered numerous Roman Period settlement features of various type and functional determination (including 2 Germanic sunken-floor houses). Probably they belong into the extent of the enormous Germanic settlement excavated in 2006. Preliminary analyses allow dating of the site to the 2nd half of the 2nd century AD and the beginning of the 3rd century AD. In the eastern part of the excavated area (cadastral of ceased village Mušov) was discovered course of fortification and remains of inner build-up area belonging to the Roman military base at Mušov from the Marcomannic wars. The excavations brought valuable information concerning presence of the Roman army at Mušov and the local Germanic population living in its vicinity. |
