| Description | The aim of the text-book, after a brief definition of basic concepts, causes and adverse consequences of domestic violence and characteristics of both victims and perpetrators, a critical analysis of current Czech legislation against domestic violence in the broadest sense, that is, unfortunately, insufficient. Chapters are therefore devoted not only to criminal aspects of domestic violence, but to the whole range of related issues, particularly of private nature. Big attention is devoted to quite problematic status of minor children in families at risk of domestic violence. Special attention is focused on the issue of minors committing domestic violence in the spirit of a child who threatens, is threatened. An integral part of most chapters are tasks for reflection and examples to develop skills. To obtain a broader outlook, the book contents some information about selected international arrangements. The book will serve students not only as a textbook, but as a starting point for further reflections on interpretation and application to current legislation and designed law. The final pages are devoted to considerations de lege ferenda, particularly in relation to the new Civil Code and the draft of Criminal Procedure Code. |
