Description This methodological article presents alternative way of conducting comparative analysis - the Boolean approach. First the main features of the approach are explained, second the method is applicated on the EU-27 comparison of female employment. The analysis points on complexity of causal conditions, that can hardly be coped by classic statistical procedures. Data suggest that the only factor that is necessarily associated with the high level of female employment and that is unambigous and stable both inside and outside certain group of countries is the intensive participation of men on domestic labor.
