Description This contribution deals with development of private law in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia (15th March 1939 – 8th May 1945). The author puts emphasis on three main private law branches, namely the civil, commercial and labour law. The civil and commercial law remained practically untouched. On the contrary, in case of the labour law considerable changes were carried out and the private legal element was suppressed. Generally, the contribution refers to the basic ideas of the Nazi ideology and Nazi legal theory in the field of the “private” law, in order to show the reader the principles of protectorate law and also the principles, which would have been, without question, to the protectorate law imposed, if the Nazism had not been defeated in 1945.
