| Description | Provenance study of the Early Paleozoic terrestrial deposits in the middle part of the Boskovice basin is based on gamma-ray analyses, pebble analyses, study of thin sections, analysis of the main chemical elements and chemistry of garnet and rutile. Source areas significantly differ for various lithostratigraphical members of the basin. Important was the role of recycling of older basin infill and intense weathering of primary material. Source from eastern margin of the basin and also axial transport of the material (ie. in S-N direction) were both interpreted for the deposits of the Letovice Formation. |
