Description | Open air sessions has become a well established component of the U3A curriculum. The curriculum was designed by Ass. Prof. Vítězslav Švalbach back in 2007 and since then students of the Graphic Design and Photography programme accomplish their degree by means of participating in these sessions. Every autumn the art pieces form an exhibition in the Bezejmenná galerie (No-name Gallery) at the Faculty of informatics, Masaryk University and also at other venues. Within the last four years a quite extensive visual database has been collected which now serves as the basis for this photography skills textbook. The first part introduces into basic camera settings, compositional variations and outdoor lighting. Number of exercises draw their inspiration from the tradition of the famous inter-war photographic education and are also a follow-up to the skills gained in the preceding Photography I and II U3A courses. Open air sessions focus naturally on the issues of landscape photography and pursue also specific skills in shooting archiutecture and sculpture. |
