| Description | Thanks to its interior, the Virgin Mary s Assumption Church in Polná is one of the Czech Republic s most spectacularly decorated churches. Owing to the generous endowment, Prince Leopold of Dietrichsten, the builder of the temple, engaged a number of prominent foreign masters of significant repute in all of Europe, who had been working at the time on projects of House Dietrichstein in Vienna and Mikulov. The Guide describes the history of the building, its architecture and interior s decoration and brings a number of new findings about artistic decoration of the temple, artists working in Polná and their donators. |
