Which activities does the Rector's Scholarship Program cover?
The Rector's Scholarship Programme to support student activities is announced by the MU Measure No. 15/2018. The purpose of the scholarship programme is:
a) support for student activities that go beyond a single faculty, or go beyond the university, and are not confined to one narrow discipline. These activities relate in particular to the development of formal and non-formal education, the promotion of strategic objectives, the development of values and the representation of the university (in sporting, cultural, social, scientific and research fields);
b) support for university students who have decided to engage in socially significant humanitarian activities based on the principle of volunteering and sharing the values advocated by the university. In particular, it is possible to support such forms of activities that are carried out in cooperation with the university’s partners, through reputable humanitarian organizations (e.g. the Red Cross, People in Need, etc.) or charity organizations focused on assistance, legal and social services, counselling or other appropriate activities, focused on those in difficult circumstances, where the student, voluntarily and at his/her own responsibility, carries out these activities;
c) support for academic self-governance at a university-wide level.
From the academic year 2025/2026, scholarship applications must be submitted exclusively through the MU Information System. An application for a scholarship to support a given activity is always submitted by one student. When submitting an application in the MU Information System, the student fills out an electronic form. The mandatory requirements for the application are the activity name, activity implementation period, description of the activity, activity location, activity target group, Individual deliverables and their timetable. The student then fills in the individual items of the Activity financial balance sheet in CZK, including the total amount requested. The student also has the possibility to request free MU promotional items within the form.
By submitting a scholarship application, students confirm that they are familiar with their obligations:
- to notify and specify other requests for financial support at MU and non-MU for the same activity (to be specified in the form)
- to prepare and submit a final report within fourteen days after the end of the activity, including an accounting of the costs incurred in accordance with the financial balance sheet of the activity and including photo documentation
- to ensure the promotion of Masaryk University during the project using provided promotional items, if issued to them.
Students submit the final report from the activity in the MU Information System, in their scholarship application file, by entering the task "Insert the final report." The link to the application file is available to the students in the informational email in which they received the decision on the award of the scholarship.
Scholarship applications are collected three times a year, always within a one-month collection period. In year 2026, scholarship applications can be submitted in the MU Information System on the following dates:
- 1 February – 2 March
- 15 April – 15 May
- 15 September – 15 October
According to MU Measure No. 15/2018, student activities support does not apply to third party refreshment costs, activity-related wage costs, or travel costs.
