About us

The theatre group SveTr (Svenska Teatern) was founded at the Department of Germanic, Nordic and Dutch Studies, at the Faculty of Arts in the early autumn of 2011. The main activities of the student club include creating, researching, rehearsing and public presentation of Swedish dramatic texts, both in Swedish and in Czech. Part of the theatre group's work is also group collaboration on translations of the chosen dramatized Swedish texts. This in part contributes to the Swedish drama being introduced to the Czech cultural scene. Other interests and actions of the student club include cultural activities ensuring communication, interaction and cultural exchange between Scandinavia and the Czech Republic.
