The Upper Silesian Coal Basin (USCB) is one of the largest bituminous coal basins in Europe. At present, mining is declining and the landscape is being revitalized. The volumes of excavated rock and the amount of tailing material that are on the surface are huge.The aim of the project is to identify elements in primary rocks, determine their bond and determine the conditions under which they can be released into the environment.
