Popis My contribution to the conference focuses on Mesopotamian myth Enúma Eliš originally from Babylonia and also on allusions of this composition documented from Assyria, which was neighboring with Babylonia from the north. However these allusions on the myth in Assyrian domain are brief and heterogeneous and they came to Assyria from its neighbor thanks to cultural impact. We can see that there is very visible pro-Assyrian intention and anti-Babylonian tendencies. Textual revision mainly focused on theological changes. The most significant one is replacement of Marduk by main Assyrian god Ašur. By these changes Assyrians followed political and religious purposes. It seems that so-called Assyrisation of the myth Enúma Eliš could have its origin in earlier years and in the period of rule of Sennacherib was just completed.
