Popis Eating habits are formed as early as in the pre-school period and become more stable in younger school age. The biggest influence on eating habits of children comes from their parents, or other relatives respectively, who live with them in one household (e.g. elder siblings or grandparents). Later, there may also occur the influence of school, friends and surroundings. This work carried out a questionnaire research with the aim to find out whether there are any differences in eating habits in three groups of boys of the same age who attended different kind of school. The informants included students of grammar schools, students of secondary professional school with a school-leaving exam and apprentices attending vocational school without taking school-leaving exam. As far as education towards correct eating habits is concerned, it can be assumed that the best education shall be granted by the grammar school. At this kind of school, there should be students with the best school results and with good overview of the society, which should be manifested in their eating habits. The presented work examined the composition of breakfasts, lunches and dinners in individual groups of informants. It has been found out that eating habits of all three groups of boys do not differ much; in respect of correct eating habits, the only finding was grammar students’ bigger consumption of vegetables as a side dish to lunch and dinner. On the contrary, students of the secondary professional school consumed more fruits for breakfast and together with apprentices, they had bigger supply of fruits for dinner.
