Popis In determining the presence of physiological and neuropsychological workload (especially in some high-risk professions), most research works of the man-environment relationship, are focused on determining mental and physical capacity limits, which an athlete (worker) needs to successfully cope with at his sport (work). The scientific content of dealing with stress is the knowledge and assistance in securing optimum links between e.g. workforce, equipment and desktop environment. The reliability of these bonds derives from the reliability of all subsystems, where the subsystem of „man“ is still the least known, most complicated and important. In the selection of variables (physiological and psychological characteristics), which are susceptible to physiological and neuropsychological load, those are preferred that can be measured continuously, i.e. preferably within 24 hours. The variation in sport performance is to be related e.g. to fatigue, training, volition effort, sport habits or stimuli. In our measurements, the technical apparatus named Biofeedback 2000 x-pert is used. Physiological and neuropsychological functions are detected using this method of measurement continuously throughout the work of the examined person. The information about the physiological functions are permanently recorded in the computer at intervals ranging from 0.05 to 0.25 sec. (depending on the physiological function). The measured psycho-physiological functions are as follows: EEG (electroencephalogram); EMG (electromyography – muscle tension); respiration – total abdominal (diaphragmatic) respiration, amplitude of abdominal respiration, frequency (rate) of abdominal respiration, total thoracic respiration, amplitude of thoracic respiration, frequency of thoracic respiration; electro-dermal activity ("cutaneously" galvanic reactions) – skin conductance level, level of the "cutaneous" reflex; body temperature, heart rate – total blood pulse, blood volume pulse, blood volume amplitude (strength of pulse) and heart rate variability (HRV). HRV parameters are analyzed on RR (beat to beat) interval series. HRV can be analyzed in time, geometric and frequency domain and in non-linear domain.
