Popis Pain is an inseparable part of a sport that every athlete experiences regardless of the type of sport and level of professionalism. In ballet, achieving the required criteria of performance is associated with high demands on the mental and physical abilities of athletes and overcoming pain on a daily basis (dancing „en pointe“, back and joint pain due to repetitive movements, frequent injuries). Early specialization is usually required for professional work, starting at the age of 4-5 years of the child. A ballet master, a teacher in ballet terminology, is a person who shapes not only the physical abilities of a dancer, but also the attitudes and narratives of the entire experience of a young ballet dancer. Therefore, understanding the attitudes and approach to pain of ballet masters may bring better understanding on how they affect a way ballet dancers respond to pain related with a dance performance or as a result of an injury. The research is part of a dissertation thesis Psychological aspects of pain in coordinating aesthetic sports. The contribution to research is perceived in a better understanding of pain phenomena while working with ballet youth and prevention of sports injuries caused by overloading or exceeding body and psychological limits.
