Popis Besides a legal framework, the political processes of modern polities are affected by other rules, commonly referred to as constitutional conventions. However, constitutional conventions in Central European states have not received particular attention despite growing evidence of their existence. This research note aims to help fill in this gap. We have conducted semi-structured interviews with 46 country experts and delivered comprehensive information about intra-field, inter-field, and cross-national variations. Interviews show that among the experts, both theoretical and empirical knowledge of constitutional conventions vary significantly and that conventions are still largely marginalised, notably in political science research.
