Popis Large-volume water-treatment plasma technologies have become of great interest. The capability of environmentally friendly and energy-efficient removal of chemical and biological contaminants at flowrates of m^3/h is principal to fulfil industrial demands. CaviPlasma technology is based on fast-flow generation of the low-pressure gaseous environment inside liquid through the cavitation phenomenon. The electric discharge is generated in the cavitation cloud using AC-driven co-axial electrodes. Depending on operational conditions, glow discharge, or spark-initiated glow discharge, is generated in saturated water vapours. The electron-driven plasma chemistry generates reactive oxygen species (ROS): OH, singlet oxygen, superoxide, ozone, or hydrogen peroxide. The simultaneous production of intense UV radiation from OH* and H2* (<345 nm), ROS, E-fields, and hydro-mechanical stress results in strong biocidal effects and degradation of micropollutants in the treated liquid.
