| Popis | This presentation introduced a flexible and effective model for cross-border collaboration that addressed the challenges of authentic and scenario-based communication in an ESP classroom through online co-operation with foreign students. The model was based on a two-year experience with a project connecting law students from universities in Czechia and Poland. Working in international teams, students completed tasks focused on business law and professional communication, culminating in a joint portfolio and an oral presentation in the form of an elevator pitch. The project was conducted in various formats—both in parallel-taught courses and in asynchronous settings without overlapping class schedules. I shared key insights from the project, including the pedagogical strategies, use of digital tools, and examples of student work. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive: students valued the opportunity to apply professional vocabulary in context, improve their fluency and clarity in spoken English, and collaborate in realistic scenarios. Many expressed pride in their group outcomes and found the experience both motivating and confidence-building. The model is easily transferable to other ESP fields by adapting the central project task to fit different disciplines, making it a practical tool for fostering authenticity, engagement, and intercultural awareness in the ESP classroom. |
