| Popis | Approximately 15% of people in need of long-term care (LTC) are residents of healthcare or social care facilities. Informal care, provided by family members or other care-givers, constitutes 70-90% of all LTC services. The absence of respite support for care-givers is considered one of the factors contributing to excess demand for residential care in Czechia. Over 30% of the population aged 65+ in Czechia face significant challenges with daily living activities in 2019, exceeding the EU-27 average of 26.6%. A declining trend in healthy life years at age 65 makes it hard to be optimistic about future improvements. |
