| Popis | The present study aims to propose and verify a new categorization of areas of interest (AOI) when reading physics textbooks for primary schools and to compare attention patterns across three types of textbooks (classical, hybrid, interactive). The primary research method is eye tracking, which is supplemented by short semi-structured interviews. The research group consisted of 24 primary school students. Four categories of AOI students were identified: Brief Review, Shallow Review, In-Depth Processing, Intense Focus. The study provides textbook authors with universally applicable guidance on how to revise their works quickly, easily and at an acceptable financial cost, and then improve them to better meet the needs of their users after discovering strengths and weaknesses. The study outlines possible solutions to increase the attention of textbook users. |
