| Popis | This monograph analyzes changes in family households in Slovakia in the context of social and demographic shifts following 1989. The authors examine key factors—such as declining marriage rates, rising divorce rates, and the shift in childbearing to later ages—which are fundamentally altering the structure of Slovak society. The text examines in detail the rise of informal cohabitation, the increase in the number of single-parent families, and the phenomenon of voluntary childlessness. The publication draws on data from the last three censuses, while also presenting a regional typology of districts and an analysis of values and attitudes toward the family. The concluding section presents a population projection that outlines future trends and the size characteristics of households.
