| Popis | The social world of law is being collectively produced or constructed by what Bourdieu calls juridical labour and may be understood as a collective participation in the construction of the legal social world by speech. Law may thus be understood as a discursive space that allows for the actualization of certain level of social reality. It is a space delimited and perpetually created and recreated by legal discourse. Consequently, the construction of meaning of legal concepts and phenomena happens within this discourse and by means of various kinds of legal conversations and communicative exchanges. The aim of this lecture is to introduce social representations theory and to explain why is this approach useful in helping lawyers and legal academia to grasp the social nature legal meaning-making. This lecture includes reports on research done within the "Methods of social representations..." project to highlight how this might work in practice. |
