| Popis | The state-guaranteed drug control system in Czechoslovakia began to develop for the first time with the establishment of the Institute for Drug Research in Prague in 1918. After the nationalization of pharmacies, pharmaceutical factories and wholesalers, National Company Medika was founded in 1950. For the pharmaceutical industry, separate technical control departments (OTK) were established in 1953. The control of pharmaceutical stocks and medicines from pharmacies was carried out by the central technical control laboratories (ÚTKL) and the regional control laboratories (KKL) of NC Medika, which also implemented the training of pharmacists for the emerging role of district quality experts. The State Institute for Drug Control (SÚKL) in Prague and the regional institute in Bratislava were established in 1952. Subsequently, there was a division of work activities and the streamlining of the control system between the first level institutions and the second level of control at the state level. |
