| Popis | This review essay introduces and interprets a book by an Americak political thinker, who sought in his work to approach the main political ideologies in a philosophical way - that is, to search for a political philosophy closely associated with political experience of a democratic society. Topics such as freedom and determinism, or rationalism and empiricism and their stance towards interpretation of norms, are discussed with regard to Stankiewicz's liberal conservative background. The article concludes that some sweeping generalizations and lack of reflection of then contemporary debates within political philosophy represent the weak point of the book. |
