Dear Job Applicants,
This issue of our newsletter introduces you to the Faculty of Informatics at Masaryk University. We are a modern academic workplace that combines cutting-edge research, high-quality teaching, a friendly work environment, and openness to the public. Our faculty consists of 318 employees, including 72 academic staff members.
Even if you registered in the MU CV database outside of announced selection procedures, we would like to use this newsletter to inform you about our selection procedure system, as we fill most of our vacancies through it.
We also want to share interesting news from our faculty, information about lifelong learning opportunities and benefits, and ways to experience the world of science at FI firsthand.

Current news and projects
Notable Figures and Projects at FI: When Science Pushes Boundaries and Shapes the Future
Behind the walls of the Faculty of Informatics at Masaryk University, impactful research is being conducted in technology and human health, among other fields. Professor Václav Matyáš is active in the field of cybersecurity and is leading two of the latest international projects: SECURE-NET connects cybersecurity experts from several European countries, and CCAT focuses on certification and security assessment tools. Another prominent figure is Professor Jan Křetínský, who received the prestigious ERC Consolidator Grant for his research linking artificial intelligence and system verification. He is conducting his research at FI MU.
Monika Čechová and her team at FI MU are uncovering hidden parts of human DNA bringing us closer to the future of personalized medicine. Last but not least is newly appointed Professor Pavel Čeleda, who researches network traffic and cyberattacks and develops smart teaching tools to help prepare students and professionals for the real challenges of the digital world.

Benefits and Advantages of Working at the Faculty of Informatics
Working at the Faculty of Informatics offers more than just interesting projects and a friendly team. Our employees enjoy a wide range of benefits that make their work easier and their free time more enjoyable.
We offer flexible working hours, the option to occasionally work remotely, and eight weeks of vacation for academic staff and six weeks for non-academic staff. We promote professional development through internal training, international internships (Erasmus+), conference participation, and other educational events. An employee portal and free psychological counseling are also available.
Financial benefits include meal vouchers, contributions to a supplementary pension plan or long-term investment product, kindergarten or daycare fee contributions, flu and tick-borne encephalitis vaccinations, and a MultiSport card. If you drive to work, you will certainly appreciate the free parking available on the faculty premises.

Are you interested in IT and looking to further your education? We offer paid lifelong learning that you can complete while working. Classes are often held in the morning or evening with full-time students. You can choose individual subjects or a thematic package to earn a microcertificate, an internationally recognized certificate of your professional education. On Friday, September 26, 2025, Masaryk University's faculty and staff will open the university's doors to the public for Researchers' Night. This year's theme is "Wealth," reminding us that knowledge, creativity, and the ability to move the world forward are the greatest treasures of any society—in harmony with nature, culture, and technology. See how science really works, experience the university environment outside normal operations, and bring your children, friends, or grandparents.
What can you experience at the Faculty of Informatics?
Take a look into the worlds of technology, virtual reality, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence in a playful, interactive way. You can look forward to demonstrations that entertain both children and adults, workshops, fun activities, and behind-the-scenes tours of areas that are not usually accessible. The program will be continuously updated on the Researchers' Night website.
