Dean Martin Repko presented the Dean's Award to a total of 42 undergraduate students from Czech and English study programmes.

On 12 March, elections to the Chamber of Academic Staff of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Medicine MU were announced. They will take place from 15 to 29 April 2024 exclusively by electronic means. The electoral districts have been divided into four sections, and the results will be announced no later than 6 May.

In this 26th year of the Werner von Siemens Prize, we are proud to say that we have two winners.

During his professional career, Dr. Jiří Kubek experienced the eradication of smallpox, the first patients with HIV, and even the memorable hepatitis epidemic. He spent the last eleven years before his retirement at the Brno Prison Hospital. He is said to have retired among the inmates.

21 March marked the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the CZECRIN research infrastructure with the aim of creating a nationwide research network for conducting non-commercial clinical research and clinical trials at national and international level.

Research Breakfast with Zdeněk Andrysík
Discussion of the Vice-Dean for Research and Doctoral Studies of LF MU Tomáš Kašpárek with guests - experienced scientists - about what may interest budding scientists. This time he invited Zdeněk Andrysík from the Institute of Biology, who recently became the head of a new junior research group.

The second year of the university-wide MUNI DAY will build on the great performance of last year's organizers and with your help we will fill the Bohunice University Campus with sport, culture, fun and knowledge! We will connect all faculties, centres and the Rector's Office. MUNI DAY will be back in style, where you can expect a sports part full of team and individual activities. The highlight will be a floorball tournament in a new coat. You can also look forward to tours of the campus departments and a cultural programme including afternoon entertainment with great refreshments.

On 10 April, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Association of Dental Students of the Czech Republic will hold an awareness-raising event at Moravské náměstí in Brno to raise public awareness of the importance of good oral hygiene and to dispel common misconceptions and myths about brushing teeth.

Students from IFMSA Brno have prepared an educational event for the public on the weekend of 20-21 April 2024 in OC Olympia, where thanks to the interdisciplinary connection you will be able to measure your blood pressure, glycaemia, BMI, you will not miss the basics of first aid or the correct technique of hand and oral hygiene.

Join the celebration of the 105th anniversary of Masaryk University Faculty of Medicine
|

|
|
Would you like to donate blood? Come to the Transfusion and Tissue Department of the University Hospital Brno or the Blood Bank at the St. Anne's University Hospital in Brno between 1 February and 30 September and sign up to donate blood or blood components under the banner of the LF MU as part of the 105th-anniversary celebrations. For the 105 first blood donors, we have prepared packages as a reward for those who can make their small donation in the lives of others.

How do you relax? If you paint or draw, are you a student, graduate, or employee of our faculty? Join the art competition that will result in a calendar for 105 weeks in 2025 and 2026. This is the second year we are launching the art competition and we would like to combine talents and efforts again this year because we believe that creative activities can be a good way to get away from everyday worries, stress, studying, work, or other responsibilities. We will use the original artwork at major social events, use it for promotional materials, and for gifting to distinguished visiting faculty.
