We would like to invite you to the conference Velvet Ideas of November 1989 in the Mirror of Changes in Czech Society, which is organized by the Department of History on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution and the 20th anniversary of the Czech Republic's accession to the European Union. Ivan Gabal, Ivana Janů, Ivan Lukavský, Petr Oslzlý, Petr Pithart, Josef Suchár, Vladimír Špidla and Magdaléna Vašáryová have promised to attend the event.

The Department of Social Pedagogy invites you to the Symposium of the Department of Social Pedagogy of the Faculty of Social Sciences of MU, which will take place on 27 November 2024. It will provide a meeting place for people studying and working in the field of social pedagogy. Friends of the field and those interested in related topics are also welcome.
This year's theme is EDUCATION FOR FREEDOM in the 21st Century or Social Pedagogy and Leisure for Older School-Age Children.

Advent Concert of the Faculty of Education MU
We cordially invite you to the Advent Concert of the Faculty of Education of MU, which will be held on 26 November at 19:00 in the Hall of Merciful Brothers.

The Faculty of Education of Masaryk University updated the statute of faculty schools and facilities. The document defines new rules of cooperation between the faculty and more than 70 schools and facilities that provide teaching practice and other professional activities.
|

On 12 September 2024, the Senate awarded the Medals of the Ministry of Education to important personalities of Czech pedagogy. The medals, which are the highest award in the field of education and upbringing, were presented by the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Mikuláš Bek. One of them was awarded to Mgr. Daniela Taylor, Ph.D. from the Department of Music Education.

Honorary Doctorate for Michael Keenan
On Thursday 17 October, Masaryk University, on the proposal of the Faculty of Education, awarded the honorary degree of Doctor Honoris Causa to Michael Keenan, who is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a distinguished academic in the Department of Psychology at the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland, and a Trustee of the Cambridge Centre for Behavioural Studies, and the founder of PEAT (Parents' Education as Autism Therapists), a charity that supports parents of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorder

Memorandum with Queenʼs University of Belfast
On 16.10.2024, we entered into a new Memorandum of Understanding with the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work at Queen's University in Ireland.
The agreement was signed by Dean Koryčánková on behalf of PED MUNI and Professor Dillenburger on behalf of Queenʼs University of Belfast.
The agreement is a continuation of the mutual cooperation in the field of behavioural analysis and strengthens the mutual synergy in research and in staff and student exchanges.

Involvement in helping schools affected by the floods
The Faculty of Education at MUNI is actively involved in helping schools in Jesenik that were affected by the floods. On 30.10.-1.11., in cooperation with the University Centre Telč, we prepared a three-day school for children from the Jeseník Primary School focused on preparation for the entrance exams to secondary schools. It also included a movie night and a tour of the Telč underground.
