Masaryk University Took Part in National Research Evaluation
2020 was a year of Research Evaluation at Masaryk University. This process underwent at all universities in the Czech Republic as a major part of national research evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports following the Methodology 2017+. The qualitative assessment focused mostly on areas of social relevance (units level), level of support for the R&D&I and future developments (university level). These areas are complementary to the other parts of the evaluation methodology – publications output and review of selected results.
More than year-long efforts concluded with an online meeting of MUNI Research Evaluation Panel on November. Within five days, 11 national and international experts from prestigious institutions underwent discussions with representatives from 11 units and the university management. After that, the panel issued an evaluation report based on conclusions from meetings and self-evaluation reports completed by MUNI units and Rectorate earlier in Spring 2020. The report is in a comment procedure at MUNI now and will be finished at the end of January 2021. The results will serve the Ministry for university ranking and allocating the core budget for research for the next five years. The feedback will also influence internal policies and the direction the University will take in the upcoming years.
