The Dean of the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University announces a selection procedure for the job position of

Head of the Institute of Law and Technology

full-time, fixed term 3 years

The current Faculty of Law at Masaryk University can be characterized as a modern, dynamic faculty, where teaching activities are at the forefront alongside scientific research. The Institute of Law and Technology is the most significant Czech professional institution focused on the technological aspects of law and legal sciences. It has a comprehensive scientific and pedagogical agenda in the fields of information technology law, intellectual property law, energy law, and legal informatics. The Institute regularly participates in national and international project consortia, including excellent project formats, and collaborates with scientific institutions, intergovernmental organizations, highest judicial instances, legislative institutions, and representatives of legal and corporate practice in the Czech Republic and the EU. Main activities:

•  Responsibility for the pedagogical and scientific activities of the department and achieving the desired outputs and results,

• Personnel management of the department (motivation, evaluation, and career development of employees),

• Responsibility for the management of entrusted resources,

• Close cooperation with the faculty management,

• Own pedagogical (including preparation of study and teaching materials), scientific research, and publishing activities.

 

Qualifications and other requirements (mandatory):

• University education with a master's degree in Law,

• Academic or scientific title of Professor or Associate Professor (Docent),

• At least 10 years of professional experience in the field,

• Active pedagogical and scientific activity and willingness to guarantee specialized subjects taught at the department,

• Personal and professional prerequisites for leading the department,

• Ability to teach and publish in Czech and English, additional language skills are an advantage,

• Fulfillment of the conditions according to Act No. 451/1991 Coll., as amended, not required for persons born after 1 December 1971,

• Moral integrity.
