Nenechali se vyloučit
Sociální vzestupy Romů v české společnosti (kvalitativní studie)

Laura Fónadová

Social chances of the Roma in the Czech Republic compared to the majority are noticeably smaller. The aim of this book is to present the circumstances and life strategies that contributed in that some Roma people have managed to cross the ethnically conditioned social barriers and achieve higher socioeconomic positions in a social context, where most of the Roma still remains on the lowest level of the social structure. Based on qualitative interviews as well as a qualitative analysis, the book offers an answer to the question of how the Roma people (included in the present study) have managed to cross ethnically conditioned social barriers and achieve higher social status (success in education as well as on the labor market) than their parents.
