Masaryk University Virtual Tour for Persons with Mobility Impairment

  • 1 May 2014

Teiresias - Support Centre for Students with Special Needs is now launching a beta version of the virtual tour of the Masaryk University buildings to assist persons with mobility impairment.

The web application is based on the principle of online virtual reality tour. The application aims to provide spatial information about the university buildings and other facilities (e.g.classrooms, laboratories etc.), helping the users assess the accessibility of the individual sites.

The application combines static and panoramic images with descriptions of the buildings, allowing the users to virtually preview sites that they may later want to tour in person.

At the moment you can tour the Faculty of Law building; the Faculty of Social Studies building will be made accessible through the application in the upcoming months.

The application, including a short introduction of the project, is available at: www.teiresias.muni.cz/virtualni-pruvodce-mu.
