The publication is engaged in the provision of speech therapy intervention for persons with disabilities in social services facilities in the Czech Republic. The publication is divided into two parts. The first two chapters present the theoretical background and the area of communication in persons with disabilities in the context of education and social services and define special education and terminology bases and impaired communication ability. The empirical part of the publication consists of two research projects carried out quantitative strategies. The main objective of the first project is the analysis of speech intervention in social services facilities in the Czech Republic, the second project aimed to analyze the special educational approaches to development of communication abilities of young adults with disabilities.
