| Description | This chapter deals with diagnostic process of hearing loss in children, describes possibilities of follow-up care and developing of communication strategies of hearing parents with their deaf child. The chapter is a result of theoretic research focused on national concepts of care about child with hearing loss. The results of research presents that an acceptance of hearing impairment of their child may mean a long-term process for hearing parents. Parents should be guided for the acquisition of effective communication strategies to communicate with their deaf child as a prevention of disturbed family relationships. Deafness itself is not usually the reason for disturbed family relationships, but dysfunctional communication between its members. |
