Description In the article the questions of the genetic classification of the Fenno-Ugric languages are analyzed. After discussion of the previous models a new scheme is presented, based on our own lexical data of 22 Fenno-Ugric languages and dialects. The results confirm conclusions of other models based on the quantitative approach: the 'Volgaic' unity did not exist, Mordvinian is closer to Fenno-Saamic and Mari to Permic.
